This is for the Autoshoujo Cover Contest hosted by :icontelophase:. The results from the random title generator were funny, and this title actually gave me something to de-stress from commission work with. I might actually make something from this, as the characters are already taking up headspace in my brain. The piece contains its fair share of mistakes, but I have no time to tinker with them as I'll soon be without tablet access. xD

In case you can't read the text:

Seeing unusual things is the norm for Okimoto Haruka. Forced to take a detour route from school one day, she finds herself in front of Asahara Junkyard, a place she never knew existed despite living in the same town all of her life. Deterred from further explorations by a young man at the entrance, Haruka goes home, her mind full of what treasures are hidden in the junkyard.

Her interest only grows when no one she asks knows it even exists.

The next day after school, Haruka runs to see the junkyard. The entrance unguarded, she slips in and finds it filled with something out of this world. Unwanted Shinigami are left at Asahara's to be kept out of mortal sight. It isn't long before Haruka is found out by the dour man from the day before. He drags her to the junkyard owner, Asahara Shouma, who offers Haruka a choice: she can help out with the shingami in the junkyard or be escorted to the underworld.

Thanks! The final product is something I still like despite its mistakes. You use oC too? Awesome! I learned to CG with it, so I find myself using it even if I have other programs available.

Oh ya? That's cool! I find it that I can't get myself to even WANT to learn like illustrator or Photoshop, cus oC is sooo easy to get used to! Too bad it doesn't have any effects or brush options eh?

Yeah, oC is just has a really simple interface, and I know how most of the brushes work with the program, so it's just difficult to break away from it to play with other programs. I really regret that there's no way to import brushes, but I've enjoyed the improvements they made to it over time (I use version 4.5.18P, so it's a totally different beast from the first version of oC). I'm just sad they've stopped working on the program. :\

Thanks! She gave me quite a bit of trouble, but I still like the end result since it was my first time trying out a mock-cover. :3

Aww, how adorable! Great work on both the front and back covers--looks like I could yank it off the shelf already :giggle: I like the character designs, especially the main chick. She looks fun!

Hee, that's the best response I could hope for. X3 <3 I like drawing her hair a lot, so it makes it fun to draw her. All of the crazy patterns and what not, though, that's going to be her special uniform or something. xD;;
